CTE Month Highlights...Culinary Arts with Mrs. Powell Culinary Arts begins with the fundamentals and principles of the art of cooking and the science of baking and includes management and production skills and techniques. Students can pursue a national sanitation certification or other appropriate industry certifications. Courses are offered as a classroom and laboratory-based course. The lab gives students hands-on experience cooking, cleaning, managing the kitchen, and other essential jobs to the industry. People are often surprised to find that there is much, much more that goes into working in the culinary industry than just cooking. While students get to spend plenty of time cooking (and eating) delicious food, they also learn management, planning, sanitation laws, and essentially how to run a business, which is what our CTE program is all about.
